Overview
What is FreeBike Project?
FreeBike Project is a company started by two Danish USC students who set out to challenge the way marketing is perceived.
As of January 2013 FreeBike Project is leasing out free bikes to college students. The bikes are branded by sponsors and serve as a unique and eco-friendly way for companies to market on college campuses. After each semester students return the bikes to FreeBike Project which then donates an equal number of bikes overseas to underprivileged children.
With $13 billion being spent annually on college marketing, FreeBike Project hopes to channel a portion of that money into a less wasteful medium. That is, a medium that not only gives companies a more effective way to promote their brand campuses but also benefits students and charities.
